Wuhan University International Law Review is hosted by Wuhan University Institute of International Law, which is the Key Research Institute of Humanities and Social Science of the Ministry of Education and the “Creative Base of International Law and New International Order” supported by the 2 stage construction of the “985 Project”. The Review project was set up at the end of 2002 and the publication published on July, 2003 for the first time under the editorship of Professor Huang Jin. The Review aims to insight into the development of contemporary international society in a rational way. It also openly accommodates all kinds of different theories. Moreover, in order to provide theoretical foundation and business reference for Chinese foreign-related legislation and juridical practice, it focuses on exploiting new field of the research and development of international law with a practical spirit. Main columns include monograph, monographic study, case study, book review. There are four characteristics of the editors. Firstly, the editorial office consists of teachers and PhD students of the Institute of International Law. The reason that invite some PhD students to attend editing work, on one hand, let the students edit some foreign journals can enhance the communication with authors. On the other hand, in this way, it is helpful to better train students’ ability of science research. Secondly, articles of the Review are required unique subjects, original views and academic values about international public law, private international law, international economic law, foreign law or other relative international law. The outstanding achievements with major theoretical innovation and practice value are warmly welcomed. Thirdly, strictly anonymous review system and perfect internal management system have guaranteed its academic standard. Lastly, articles on Review have Chinese and English versions to make the Review be an international Chinese publication, a window reflecting Chinese international law research. Currently, the Review has become one of the top publications of Chinese international law. It was presented as diplomatic gift to Karim Masimov, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan in 2007. At the same year, it was selected by the CSSCI as the resource review. In 2008, it was collected by Chinese Journal Net and Copy Press from Renmin University of China. The cooperation agreement with China Law Information Website was signed on August 2009. At present, publication exchange relationships with several institutions and Universities has been established, including Universit des Saarlandes and Universit Trier of German, Research Institute on Comparative Law of Switzerland, Hubertus Institution of University of Groningen and Waseda University. It is also collected by United Nations Commission on International Trade Law and Peace Palace Library of International Law of International Court of Justice. Additionally, it is the only Chinese publication quoted by the “Latest Bibliography Related to the Committee of United Nations Commission on International Trade Law” in 2009.
